DisplayPort Converter

Your DisplayPort Converters Manufacturing and Supplier

DisplayPort has become the standard video interface on most business computers and workstations. However, most workplaces use a mix of display technologies—from modern HDMI monitors to others. DisplayPort converters bridge this compatibility gap, maximizing an organization’s display investments as it adopts new computer technology. Multi-monitor setups, conference rooms, and repeated daily communication-based training are perfect use cases for these conversion solutions. Consistency in all these scenarios is key to productivity and simple, effective communication.

We manufacture converters specifically tailored for business and professional end users. Active converters are at the core of our product line, transforming DisplayPort signals into HDMI (for modern displays/presentation systems), VGA (for near-universal legacy projectors), or DVI. Advanced signal processing is incorporated into each converter, with broad compatibility regarding resolvable image sizes and all related refresh rates being a primary concern.

What sets our converters apart is the more ‘professional’ reliability we focus on. Conference rooms, trading floors, any pre-determined high-frequency display connectivity requirement—it must work. Automatic resolution detection and small-scale scaling (to near-perfect image quality) are built in. Compact bus-powered designs remove the need for external adapters, and simple cable management is a real benefit. LED status indicators and durable metal housings (with heat dissipation in mind) complete the picture.

IT managers and system integrators will find our solutions scalable. Daisy chaining is supported, and we aim to deliver the above-mentioned flexibility and/or deployment simplicity to all professional environments. DisplayPort is a beneficial and future-proof technology for us.

Support for High Resolution and High Refresh Rate

DisplayPort converters are built to handle the high bandwidth of today’s content. They also support higher resolutions, including 4K at 60Hz, 1440p at 144Hz, and the more common professional standard of 8K. That way, whether changing signal or converting to something like DVI or HDMI (for your home theater), you won’t lose the color-accurate, crisp images that DisplayPort is known for, making them ideal adapters for gamers and professionals.

DisplayPort to HDMI Solution

Of course, the most popular way to convert DisplayPort to HDMI is to connect an external display—like a TV or monitor—with an HDMI input to your computer. Good converters can use ARC (Audio Return Channel) to send and receive audio through the same cable. This digital-to-digital conversion allows the unit to support multi-channel audio from VHS or other analog sources that may be included in your home entertainment experience.

Compatibility with the Old-Fashioned VGA Display

Many workspaces and lecture rooms still use VGA projectors and monitors. An active DisplayPort to VGA adapter is required since the digital signal needs to be converted into an analog signal. This enables you to use a new laptop with older equipment without replacing good-functioning hardware. We’ll help you find robustly built converters that operate consistently, perfect for heavy-duty applications.

Multi-Display Serial Connection Technology

One of the few having to do an MST/Multi-Stream Transport configuration, as they only have one capable port. Some specialized MST hubs are converters that split the signal to a few displays (e.g., HDMI or DVI). This eliminates the hassle of managing and hiding cables, making it an efficient multimonitor workstation for financial traders, software developers, video gamers, or creative professionals.

Active and Passive Converters

The crucial aspect to understand is the difference between an active and a passive converter. Passive converters are fine for a digital-to-digital link (DP to HDMI/DVI); the connectors are wired through. Converters for digital-to-analog (DP to VGA) are active; they have a chip that converts the signal. Using the right sort prevents problems like no picture or an unclear image.

Active and Passive Converters
What is the difference between a converter and an adapter?

In general, the terms are interchangeable. But, stricto sensu, an “adapter” usually means a dumb device that changes the physical connector for compatible signals (like DP to HDMI). A “converter” signal actively changes the signal type (e.g., digital DP to analog VGA). An active converter is always required for an analog conversion.

Do DisplayPorts to HDMI convert sound out?

Yes, a working DP to HDMI Converter will also send audio with the video. The DisplayPort source must support audio, and the converter will not work with audio unless the source does. Most new converters handle audio without problems.

Can I use a converter to achieve 4K @ 60Hz or 144Hz?

Yes, but you must ensure the converter supports the resolution and refresh rate. A low-cost or older converter may only support 4K @ 30Hz or 1080p. View the product specifications to determine whether it supports your input device’s max resolution and refresh rate.

Why is there any signal when I use the DisplayPort to VGA adapter?

First, use an active converter; a passive one won’t work for VGA. Second, be sure the converter is getting power if it needs an external USB connection. Finally, please reboot the computer with the converter installed so the video card can re-detect its connected display.

Do I need a special converter for dual monitors?

You probably don’t need a special converter for two standalone monitors; use two separate converters. But if you intend to daisy-chain multiple displays from a single DisplayPort output using MST (Multi-Stream Transport), you’ll need a special MST hub to support it.

Are DisplayPort converters bidirectional?

No, the DisplayPort converter is not bidirectional. They are intended to turn a DisplayPort output into an input for a different interface (e.g., a computer to monitor). You cannot use an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter to connect an HDMI source to a DisplayPort monitor in reverse.

My screen goes black with the converter. How can I fix this?

Screen flickering can result from a faulty converter, a bad cable, or limited bandwidth. You might want to use a shorter high-quality cable. Make sure that the resolution and refresh rate of the monitor you are to use with this adapter are set to:

  • 1280*720@60HZ.unds
  • 1920×1080@60HZ or 2160×1080@60HZ.

If the above is false, you will need a new converter.
