USB C VR Cable

Keep the cable route close to the device with BC-DAC003, a USB-C to angled USB-C cable for compatible USB-based VR connections and custom equipment projects. Its angled plug offers an alternative to a straight connector when port placement and cable exit require careful planning.

  • Straight USB-C male to left- or right-angle USB-C male
  • Nylon-braided jacket and aluminum connector housing
  • Listed USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 data rating up to 20Gbps
  • Listed USB PD rating up to 240W, with compatible EPR equipment
  • Lengths from 0.2 to 5m, subject to configuration-specific approval
  • OEM length, appearance, and packaging requirements welcome

Send your headset model, computer port, required length, and a photo showing the preferred cable route. We can review the configuration before quoting.

Plan the Connection Around the Headset

Angled USB-C VR Cable for Custom Headset Connections

Start at the headset socket: the strap, case, and nearby controls determine where the cable can comfortably leave the device. BC-DAC003 solves the physical connection with a straight USB-C plug on one end and an angled USB-C plug on the other. Choose the exit direction and length around the device rather than forcing a straight cable into a tight bend.

This product is a candidate for headsets that support a suitable USB data connection to a computer. It is not a universal replacement for proprietary VR tethers, separate DisplayPort connections, or manufacturer-specific breakout cables.

Match the Headset Connection First

Check the headset maker’s connection requirements and the supported PC software before selecting a cable. A USB-C socket doesn’t indicate which video transport, data mode, or power arrangement the headset uses. Some systems need their original tether and interface hardware.

For a headset that supports PC VR over USB, verify the actual USB connection and application behavior. The cable’s maximum data rating doesn’t determine the headset’s rendered resolution, image compression, frame rate, or motion-to-photon latency. Those depend on the headset, computer, software, and connection.

If your project is a conventional USB-C display connection rather than USB-based VR streaming, review our USB-C monitor cable and its display requirements. Please describe the intended function rather than ordering by an “8K” label alone.

Choose the Angle from the Installed View

Left and right can be ambiguous when you view a drawing from a different direction. Send a photo of the device port with an arrow showing where the cable should run. Include any protective case, strap, or nearby control that could interfere with the housing.

An angled connector changes the cable route; it does not lock the connection or make the device immune to pulling forces. Provide slack and suitable support, following the headset manufacturer’s guidance. Do not use the cable as a restraint or allow it to cross a walking route.

Power Capability Is Not a Headset Charging Promise

The 240W rating describes the cable configuration’s power capability with appropriate USB PD EPR equipment. A normal computer USB port may supply much less, and a headset may accept only a fraction of that rating. The cable cannot add power profiles the source or device doesn’t support.

Check whether the battery charges, holds its level, or drains during a session with the intended headset, application, and USB port. Specify simultaneous data and power operation during sample approval if your installation depends on it.

Request a Cable for Your Actual Setup

Short leads suit compact equipment connections, while longer runs need a sensible route and an electrical evaluation. Select the length from the installed path, including comfortable slack; do not equate a nominal 5m cable with an approved room-scale play area.

Send the device and computer references, connector orientation, length, quantity, and branding needs. We can discuss a sample configuration and quotation. For other constructions, compare the USB-C cable range.

Check the Connector Envelope, Not Just the Angle

The angled plug redirects the cable beside the port, but the housing still needs clearance from the device enclosure. Review the width, depth, and cable exit against the complete headset, including any case or accessory.

A port photo with the desired exit direction marked is a useful starting point. For a custom equipment build, send the available space or a drawing so the connector choice can be reviewed before sample approval.

Can I use this as an extension for an existing VR tether?

No. BC-DAC003 has male USB-C plugs at both ends and is a direct cable, not a male-to-female extension. Proprietary tethers may also require a different connection. Send a photo of the existing cable and ports before choosing a replacement.

Will the cable work through a USB-A adapter?

An adapter changes the connection and may limit data or power capabilities. You cannot assume USB-C Power Delivery EPR through a USB-A connection. Specify the computer port when ordering so we can review the cable and any required conversion together.

Can the same cable be supplied in short lengths for equipment racks?

Short lengths are listed within this range. Tell us the connection, available routing space, and required electrical functions. A short equipment lead and a longer headset cable need different fit and handling checks, even when their plugs look alike.

What information is useful when a headset disconnects?

Record the headset and computer models, the port used, the software version, the cable length, and whether movement triggers the problem. Note any hub or adapter and whether a direct connection behaves differently. These details help narrow down the connection issue.

How do we arrange samples for approval?

Send the required length, connector orientation, quantity, and intended equipment. We can discuss sample availability, cost, and timing for that configuration. Free samples and a fixed delivery time are not assumed before a quotation.

Approving a USB-C Cable for a VR Deployment

For a training room, demonstration station, or headset accessory bundle, the key question isn’t just whether a cable connects. It is whether the selected cable works consistently in the same setup your users will receive. A short approval record can prevent one successful demonstration from turning into an unsupported compatibility claim.

Record the Connection and Software

Identify the headset revision, computer, USB port, operating system, and VR software. Note any adapter or hub. Begin with the direct connection required by the headset maker; adding intermediate hardware changes the setup being evaluated.

Use the platform’s connection diagnostic where available. Record the reported USB mode alongside the cable length and sample reference. A copied file or a promotional speed graphic isn’t enough to establish live VR session behavior.

Test the Intended Session

Run the application at the intended settings and for an agreed session duration. Check reconnect behavior, tracking interruptions, and any image or audio dropouts. Where several stations share the same equipment design, repeat the relevant checks on the port types you will deploy.

Track battery behavior under that workload if charging during use matters. A charging symbol does not necessarily mean the power input exceeds the headset’s demand. Record the source and negotiated power where suitable measurement equipment is available.

Check Cable Routing with the Headset Fitted

Fit the protective case and straps you will use in service. Check that the angled housing clears them and that normal head movement does not pull the connector sideways. Support the cable per the headset maker’s instructions, without clamping it so tightly that the jacket is damaged.

Route the lead away from feet, wheels, and sharp edges. A braided jacket does not prove a defined drag-chain rating or unlimited flex life. If repeated bending is a design requirement, agree a test method and acceptance criteria for the selected assembly.

Keep the Approved Configuration Identifiable

Record the length, connector direction, housing finish, jacket, and labeling along with the functional test setup. This helps purchasing and installation teams distinguish similar-looking cables with different capabilities.

For custom packaging, describe the supported use accurately. Avoid claims that the cable increases rendering resolution, eliminates latency, or works with every VR headset. A clear compatibility statement is more useful to a buyer than a broad promise that the installation cannot reproduce.
