USB-C Flat Cable for USB-A and USB-C Equipment
A flat cable can help keep a desktop connection or equipment bundle orderly, but the connector choice still determines how it works. The BC-DAC021 family offers two assemblies: USB-A to USB-C for legacy host ports, and USB-C to USB-C for equipment that uses Type-C on both ends.
Both versions are listed for up to 10Gbps USB data. The C-to-C version also supports 60W USB Power Delivery. They should not be specified as electrically identical simply because they share the same flat profile.

The 10Gbps figure is a link rating, not a guaranteed file-copy speed. Confirm the selected length and complete equipment connection before setting an application performance requirement. USB 3.2 Gen 2 is the relevant 10Gbps designation; Gen 2×2 refers to a different, 20Gbps mode.
A Flat Profile for a Planned Cable Route
The flat TPE lead can lie flat against an equipment surface, unlike a conventional cord with a round cross-section. This can be useful for short peripheral connections, desktop accessories, and product bundles where appearance and cable management matter.
Check the cable width, thickness, and connector dimensions together. A thin lead doesn’t guarantee the plug will fit a recessed socket or pass through a narrow opening. Leave room for the strain relief and a smooth bend at each end.
Flat construction is not a promise that the cable cannot kink. Avoid sharp folds, sideways twisting, and pressure from covers or clamps. Do not specify it for under-carpet, underground, or moving-machine installation merely because it has a low profile; those uses require an appropriate construction and application review.
Separate Charging from Data Requirements
For a C-to-C charging project, identify the power source and receiving device and state the required USB PD profile. A 60W-capable cable cannot make a lower-power charger supply 60W, and the device decides which supported profile it can accept.
The A-to-C version serves a different connection. Its Type-C configuration resistor is not an overcurrent protection circuit or a mechanism for adding USB PD to a USB-A port. Check any legacy fast-charging requirements against the actual source, device, and cable wiring.
Neither the connector shape nor a 10Gbps data rating proves monitor support. If video is part of your project, specify the resolution, refresh rate, and equipment. Compare our USB-C monitor cables for display-oriented configurations.
Custom Flat USB Cable Supply
Tell us the finished length, connector arrangement, color, marking, and packing format your project needs. We can review the construction and sample requirements before you commit to a production specification. A longer custom lead should not automatically inherit the performance of a shorter sample.
For repeat orders, agree on a drawing revision and sample reference, along with the electrical requirements. Include any special handling, environmental, or mechanical requirements so they can be assessed rather than assumed from the jacket material.
If the project needs a short USB4 link instead of this 10Gbps family, see our 13cm flat USB4 cable. The broader USB-C cable range covers other connector and mounting arrangements.
Send your flat-cable requirements with the selected model, length, and quantity. A photo of the port helps when the available clearance is hard to describe.
Compare the Two Flat Cable Versions
Choose the connector arrangement first, then confirm length, data operation, and charging requirements for that version.

P/N: BC-DAC021-A
Connect a USB-A host port to a USB-C peripheral with a flat TPE lead and aluminum housing. This version supports 10Gbps USB data; charging depends on the source and device. Share your required length and port layout for review.

P/N: BC-DAC021-C
Choose USB-C plugs at both ends for a flat-profile connection between compatible equipment. This version offers a listed 10Gbps data configuration and up to 60W USB PD. Confirm the finished length, charger, and receiving device when requesting a sample or production quotation.
Check Both Connector Bodies Before Choosing the Route
The A-to-C and C-to-C assemblies share a flat-cable style but use different plug shapes. Use the connector drawings to check socket access, nearby equipment, and the room needed to grip each plug.
When requesting a custom length, include the intended cable path and the measurement reference. The larger connector, cable width, and strain-relief area must all fit the layout; a flat profile alone does not establish clearance.
Send a photo or drawing with the order brief so the sample can be reviewed in the same arrangement your customer will use.

Yes. Send the final length and measurement reference, along with the selected connector version and required functions. We will review the assembly before quoting; do not assume every custom length has the same high-speed performance.
Not based on the flat TPE jacket alone. Provide the movement path, bend radius, cycle requirement and environment so a suitable construction and verification plan can be assessed.
No cable should be treated as immune to kinking or crushing. Store this assembly in a relaxed loop and avoid folding it sharply, twisting it sideways, or pinching it under a cover.
Yes. BC-DAC021-A uses a USB-A male-to-USB-C male cable, while BC-DAC021-C uses USB-C male connectors on both ends. Their charging behavior differs: the listed 60W USB PD configuration applies to the C-to-C version with compatible equipment, not to the A-to-C assembly.
BC-DAC021 is a finished USB cable with molded connector assemblies, not a bare flexible circuit or exposed-contact ribbon for a board socket. Do not substitute it for an FPC or FFC based on shape alone; match the actual electrical interface and mechanical drawing.
Send the artwork, desired marking position, packaging format, and quantity. We can review suitable marking and packaging options for the cable configuration. Confirm the approved appearance on a sample before the production order.
No. USB-C describes the connector, not a complete set of functions. The listed 10Gbps data configuration does not, by itself, confirm DisplayPort video. Submit the display requirements and equipment so we can recommend a suitable cable.

How to Specify a Flat USB Cable for an OEM Equipment Bundle
A useful cable brief describes the connection as well as the cable. For BC-DAC021, the first key decision is whether the supplied equipment will connect via USB-A or USB-C. Record that decision in the part description so purchasing does not substitute one version for the other.
Record the Required Operating Task
Describe what the user needs to do: transfer files to a storage device, connect a USB peripheral, charge a device, or combine supported functions. Include the host and peripheral model numbers when available. A cable that works for charging is not automatically qualified for the required data task.
For storage, distinguish the negotiated USB link from the file-transfer result. The drive, enclosure, controller, and workload can limit the observed throughput. Set an acceptance test around the real application instead of expecting a file-copy utility to display the cable link rate.
Measure the Route in the Installed Position
Place the equipment where it will be used and measure a relaxed cable path. Note whether the length reference includes the plug bodies. Add enough slack for connection and service without leaving a loop that catches on adjacent equipment.
Check the flat lead in both bending directions. A route that works when the cable lies on a broad surface may require an awkward twist near the socket. The connector exit and strain-relief area deserve particular attention in a compact layout.
Make Charging an Explicit Line Item
If you select BC-DAC021-C for 60W charging, identify the intended USB PD source and receiving device. Confirm their negotiated voltage and current during sample evaluation. If you choose BC-DAC021-A, specify the legacy charging behavior separately; do not copy the C-to-C power description into the order.
Where data and charging must operate together, include that combined workload in the agreed check. This is more useful than separate demonstrations that do not reproduce the customer installation.
Agree Evidence Before the Bulk Order
Ask which inspection records and product documentation are available for the selected assembly. If your project requires a bend-cycle result, environmental rating, or compliance declaration, define the relevant construction, conditions, and document scope. A generic factory statement is not a substitute for product-specific evidence.
Retain the approved sample, drawing, label artwork, and packaging reference. These details help your receiving team distinguish the two versions and consistently check repeat deliveries.
