Extend Access Without Guessing at Compatibility
USB-C Extension Cable for Custom Equipment Connections
A dock lead that stops just short of the desk edge or a hard-to-reach USB-C socket can make an otherwise workable installation frustrating. The BC-DAC007 USB-C extension cable provides a male-to-female connection so you can review a more accessible cable route without immediately replacing the connected accessory.
Choose the length and construction first, then qualify the complete link. An extension adds cable and another mating interface; don’t assume the original cable’s maximum data rate, charging power, and video mode will remain unchanged.
BC-DAC007 Specification and Selection Guide
| Item | Selection detail |
|---|---|
| Connector A | USB-C male, straight |
| Connector B | USB-C female |
| Listed lengths | 0.2m / 0.5m / 1m / 1.5m / 2m / 3m / 5m; confirm availability for the selected construction |
| Jacket options | Nylon-braided or PVC |
| Housing options | Aluminum-shell or molded styles shown in the product gallery; confirm the chosen combination |
| Data requirement | Up to 20Gbps; listed lengths have been validated with a main cable in the tested connection configurations |
| Charging requirement | Up to 240W with compatible EPR equipment and a suitable main cable; match the complete connection to the validated configuration |
| Video requirement | Up to 8K at 60Hz in a compatible, validated video connection; confirm the color format and source/display combination for the order |
| OEM details | Length, jacket, housing, finish, marking and packaging subject to the agreed configuration |
The listed lengths have been validated with a main cable for the stated capabilities. Performance still depends on the complete equipment and cable configuration. Do not interpret the separate 20Gbps, 240W and 8K 60Hz figures as a confirmed simultaneous operating mode.
Choose the Construction for the Installation
Nylon braiding offers a textured cable finish for a visible desktop or accessory kit. PVC provides a smooth jacket that may suit a simpler equipment connection. Aluminum-shell and molded connector styles also differ in grip, appearance, and clearance.
These are construction choices, not separate proof of electrical capability or a guaranteed bend life. Ask for the drawing and sample of the exact combination you intend to order. Don’t let an attractive shell dictate a high-current or high-speed specification.
When an Extension Is a Useful Starting Point
- Service access: move an existing connection to an easier-to-reach position.
- Desk routing: review a short additional reach around a stand or enclosure.
- Accessory kits: evaluate a defined extension with a known host, main cable, and peripheral.
Keep the added length as short as the installation reasonably allows. Where a cable exits against an obstruction, compare the right-angle USB-C extension cable. For a fixed front-panel socket, review a USB-C panel-mount cable instead of leaving a loose connector unsupported.
Confirm the Whole Connection, Not Just the Extension
For USB data, include the host port capability, device, and main cable in the review. A 20Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 target requires suitable endpoints and a qualified signal path; a connector marked USB-C does not establish that capability.
For charging, an e-marker identifies cable capabilities in an appropriate USB-C assembly; it does not boost a charger’s output or prove that an added extension is suitable for the requested voltage and current. Do not use a 240W EPR connection without confirming the entire assembly.
For video, the source and display must support the required mode. Resolution alone is incomplete: refresh rate, color format, and any compression requirements matter. Successful charging doesn’t prove video or high-speed data will work.
Get a Quotation Around Your Actual Setup
Send the required additional reach, host and device models, main cable type and length, and the function that matters most. If data, video, and charging must run together, say so explicitly. Include the installation photo, preferred finish, and order quantity so we can discuss a suitable sample and a clear specification.
Request a BC-DAC007 configuration review and quotation. For other connector pairings, browse the USB-C cable range.
Check Both Connector Bodies Against the Available Space
The male plug has to clear the host enclosure, while the female end needs room for the main cable’s plug body. Compare both connector outlines with recessed sockets, nearby ports, and any protective cover. Leave enough space to grip the housings when removing them.
Support the joined cables so their weight does not hang from a socket. A length that looks tidy in a straight line can become too tight when routed around a stand. Send the connector clearance and cable route with your inquiry to help define a practical sample.

Do not plan a chain of extensions as a way to guarantee more reach. Each extra cable and connector affects the complete connection. Discuss the required total distance and functions so that a suitable direct cable or other connection architecture can be reviewed.
Do not treat BC-DAC007 as an active repeater. An e-marker is not a signal amplifier. If the installation needs signal regeneration or a longer-distance solution, specify that requirement separately and request the appropriate product design.
Housing material alone cannot establish the operating temperature or safe charging power. Cable construction, contact resistance, current, and the complete connection all matter. Ask for the relevant configuration and test evidence rather than selecting based on shell material alone.
Send the preferred jacket and housing, color reference, artwork, and order quantity. The available process and minimum quantity depend on the selected construction. Approve the appearance together with the electrical configuration so the branded sample is an accurate order reference.
Ask for the written warranty terms and applicable documents for the quoted configuration. A general product description or a claim for another cable is not a substitute for model-specific evidence. Include any procurement or certification requirements before sample approval.

How to Evaluate a USB-C Extension Before an OEM Rollout
A short extension can solve a physical access problem, but a successful connection at one desk doesn’t mean approval for every device in a shipment. A useful evaluation keeps the equipment, main cable, and extension configuration together as one system.
Establish a direct-connection baseline
First, connect the host and device without the extension. Record the working data mode, display settings, or charging behavior that the project actually requires. This baseline helps distinguish an existing device limitation from a change caused by the extra connection.
Evaluate the ordered length
Test the extension length you intend to supply, including the main cable already attached to the accessory. A short sample does not validate a longer order. Check both USB-C plug orientations at each mating point, then repeat the disconnect/reconnect and sleep/wake operations users will encounter.
For a storage application, run the normal workload long enough to observe stable operation rather than relying on a peak benchmark. For a display, record resolution, refresh rate, color format, and source settings. If USB peripherals must work while video is active, include them in the test rather than checking each function separately.
Treat power as its own approval requirement
Identify the charger and receiving device and confirm their negotiated voltage and current. Any high-power test should use suitable equipment and a qualified procedure. An e-marker label or successful low-power charge does not prove safe operation at a higher power level. Agree on the required evidence for the complete assembly before deployment.
Decide whether extension is still the best architecture
Where maximum bandwidth, high power, or an equipment certification requirement leaves little tolerance for an extra interface, a single appropriately specified male-to-male cable may be a better route. Compare the USB-C monitor cable for a direct connection, with its configuration matched to the application. For longer routes, discuss system requirements before adding more extensions.
Keep the approved configuration identifiable
Record BC-DAC007, the length, jacket and housing combination, the main cable, endpoint models and accepted operating modes. Include marking and packaging requirements in the same order reference. If a device, cable length, or power source changes later, review the affected tests before treating the replacement as equivalent.
This gives purchasing a defined assembly to order and engineering a reproducible setup to support. Send the connection details with your inquiry so the discussion starts with your installation rather than a generic maximum-speed label.
