USB 2.0 Panel Mount Extension Cable: Durable and Flexible Port Access Solution
Give your equipment an accessible USB-A connection without relocating the internal host. The BC-DAA011 USB 2.0 panel-mount extension cable fixes the female interface at the panel and connects internally via a Type-A male plug.
It is a straightforward configuration for maintenance access and USB 2.0 peripherals in a cabinet, kiosk, or instrument enclosure. BespokeCable can review the male plug direction, cable route, and mounting details around your layout. Send a panel sketch or equipment photograph to begin the selection.

Make Routine Access Easier
A fixed receptacle can place the service connection where it is visible and reachable, rather than behind the internal computer. Plan the port around the task: inserting a service dongle may require different access than leaving a scanner connected. A clear location also makes the service instructions easier to follow.

Adapt the Internal Plug to the Layout
The male plug may need to clear a chassis wall or another connector. Select the exit from a photograph showing the host socket in its installed orientation. Leave room to insert and remove the plug; a cable that fits only before the board is mounted can complicate maintenance.
Review the Panel as an Assembly
Include the cutout, thickness, finish, and rear clearance in the mechanical review. Fixation must match the selected connector body and hardware. Panel mounting alone does not provide dust or water protection, so specify environmental sealing separately when the application requires it.

Select USB 2.0 for the Actual Requirement
A service connection that only needs USB 2.0 can be specified for that function. Where the equipment needs USB 5Gbps operation, compare the panel-mount USB 3.0 extension. Similar external connectors do not make the two signal constructions equivalent.
Send the available opening, hole positions, and panel stack. We can assess a revised mounting arrangement as a specific configuration rather than assume it from the reference product.
Quote the approved assembly reference and revision. Add individual identification and packing requirements if the spares will be distributed to different service locations.
The quotation should identify every supplied fastener, bracket, or other accessory. Do not infer the packing contents from the mounting description alone.
Provide the required wording and its location on your panel design. Cable or packaging identification can be reviewed to match that name.
No. A passive panel extension provides no device authentication or electrical isolation. Those protections belong in the equipment design.

Building a Practical USB Service Connection
Define Who Uses the Port
Identify whether the connection is for an operator, a service technician, or a permanently attached peripheral. That determines visibility, labeling, and physical access. It also helps the equipment designer decide whether the port needs a cover or restricted access. A cable assembly is not a security control for the host system.
Measure the Route After Mechanical Layout
Follow the intended internal path from the panel receptacle to the host port. Account for cable support and a reasonable service loop without trapping excess cable behind a cover. The final drawing should define how length is measured, since different connector bodies can change the usable reach even at the same nominal length.
Test With the External Lead Installed
A panel lead contributes to the total USB path. Evaluate it with the external cable and peripheral you will use, including power demand during operation. Don’t approve it based only on a continuity check or a successful connection with a much shorter test lead. Any required cycle, vibration, or ingress performance needs its own evidence.
Use the Correct Board Interface
This model plugs into a USB-A socket. If your board exposes a pin header instead, the single-port 5-position header cable is a different assembly for review. Include that distinction in the inquiry, together with panel dimensions, route, and quantity, so the quotation matches the installation.
