USB 2.0 A Female to 5-Pin Dupont Panel Mount Cable: Bridge Standard USB to Your Internal Electronics
Connect a single panel-facing USB-A port to a board-level header with the BC-DAA014 cable assembly. Its 2.54 mm five-position female termination gives equipment builders an alternative to routing a standard USB plug directly to the board.
The assembly is configured around your board connection and panel, not a universal five-pin USB pinout. BespokeCable can review the required wiring and length from a board manual, connector photo, or reference sample. This helps turn an early integration idea into a consistent, orderable cable specification.

Bring a Board Connection to the Panel
Use a panel interface when you need to separate the USB access point from the PCB. It makes maintenance connections easier to access without moving the main electronics. The board still needs the correct USB circuitry and role for the intended connection; the cable doesn’t provide that functionality.

Give the Fifth Position an Explicit Definition
The number of housing positions does not determine their function. Record VBUS, D-, D+, and ground from the equipment documentation, then specify what the remaining position does. It may be unused or assigned differently by the board designer; don’t automatically label it as an ID pin.
Control Orientation at Assembly
A small unkeyed header can be inserted backward or shifted by one position if the surrounding design allows it. Include a connector view and a clear pin-one reference in the assembly instructions. Review any practical keying or identification requirements before committing to the housing and board interface.

Quote the Route You Need
A short internal lead can still need extra reach around supports or covers. Measure the installed path and service allowance rather than the straight-line distance. For two external USB ports on one assembly, compare the dual-port 10-position cable and review its different wiring separately.
Yes, please review the reference sample. Include the equipment identity and any known pinout so the replacement can be assessed electrically as well as mechanically.
Provide the mating header geometry and the required key position. A blocking or keying arrangement must be checked against the housing and board before it is specified.
No general compatibility claim is appropriate. Supply the exact board and header documentation; matching contact pitch does not establish USB signal availability or safe power wiring.
Send the required colors or labels with the pin map. The electrical drawing remains the primary reference, even when you use a color scheme.
Specify the documents needed for the quoted assembly and destination market. Confirm their scope and availability before procurement, rather than inferring them from a generic website claim.

Identify the Actual Board Interface
Provide the board connector designation and its electrical documentation. A generic GPIO header with the same pitch is not automatically a USB interface, and a cable does not convert GPIO, UART, or another protocol into USB. Device names alone are insufficient when several board revisions expose different headers.
Create a Mating Face Pin Map
Draw the connector as viewed from the mating side and mark the numbering direction. Map the USB contacts to the cable housing positions, including shell or shield treatment where relevant. Avoid using wire color as the only control. A documented continuity check can then verify the assembled cable without guessing the designer’s intended view.
Review Power and Intended Use
The Type-A female connector does not indicate a specific current rating or charging protocol. The board power source, wiring, and contacts determine what arrangement is usable. Agree on the supported peripheral use and load before connecting equipment, especially where the board also has an independent power supply.
Check the Mounted Sample
Confirm panel fixation, plug access, header seating, and clearance with the enclosure closed. Functional evaluation should use the actual host and peripheral. If the equipment has a conventional Type-A socket rather than a header, the USB 2.0 panel-mount extension may avoid an unnecessary board-level adaptation. Send your interface details and quantities so the quotation describes the correct termination.
