Choose the Cable Exit That Fits Your Drive Bay
Bring the cable exit closer to the drive or motherboard when a straight connector leaves too little room. The BC-DAG006 right-angle SATA cable family offers five photographed endpoint combinations for compact storage layouts and repeated equipment builds.
- 7-pin SATA female connectors at both ends.
- Straight, side-angle, and mixed-angle configurations.
- Metal latches on the pictured connectors.
- 45cm listed length; custom routes by quotation.
- PVC jacket with black connector overmolding.
- Gold-plated contacts.
- Up to 6Gb/s with compatible SATA equipment.
- Data-only connection; drive power is separate.
Not sure which way the connector should turn? Send a photo with an arrow showing your preferred cable route. We can help identify the configuration before you order.
Angled SATA Data Connections for Compact Assemblies
Right Angle SATA Cable for Tight Drive-Bay Layouts
A small change in connector direction can make a storage installation much easier to assemble. BC-DAG006 offers side-exit and mixed-angle SATA data cable options so the lead can follow available space instead of folding sharply behind a straight plug.
Choose this family for internal SATA connections in compact PCs, workstations, or equipment enclosures where both the drive position and the motherboard port are already defined. The five product cards below show the available combinations; use their photos and the installed port orientation to select the right one.

What an Angled Connector Changes
The molded angle changes where the cable leaves the plug. It does not change the storage protocol or increase a drive’s speed. The useful benefit is mechanical: a better-directed route can leave more space near the enclosure wall and reduce the need for a tight bend immediately behind the connector.
There is no single “right” direction for every drive bay. A connector that points away from a wall in one installation may point toward the power socket when the drive is inverted. For a straight-ended alternative, compare our SATA data cable configurations. If the project also needs power wiring, specify a separate SATA power cable for the drive and power source.
Five Angled SATA Cable Configurations
Match the connector silhouette and keyed mating face, not the angle name alone. The directional labels below identify the pictured configurations. Final endpoint views and the quoted part reference should be agreed upon for your installation.

P/N: BC-DAG006-SR
Pairs a straight plug with the pictured right-side exit. Use it when one port has room for a straight approach, but the other needs the cable to turn alongside the connector. Check the side exit against the mounted drive.

P/N: BC-DAG006-SL
The straight-to-left-angle option provides the opposite-side exit to the SR configuration. Please send this photo with your inquiry so we can confirm the quoted order code and exit direction together.

P/N: BC-DAG006-DL
Combines the pictured down-angle plug with a left-side exit at the other end. This mixed geometry is useful when the motherboard and drive require turns in different planes. Compare both connector views before selecting the cable route.

P/N: BC-DAG006-LL
Uses the pictured left-angle connector style at both ends. Consider it when neither endpoint allows a straight exit. Review the full route between the installed ports so the flat cable can lie naturally without twisting to reverse an exit.

P/N: BC-DAG006-RR
Provides the pictured right-angle, side-exit style at both ends. It offers an alternative to LL when the keyed port orientation calls for the opposite connector geometry. Reserve room for both housings and access to their release clips.
Plan Both Ends of a Mixed-Angle Route
BC-DAG006-DL shows why selecting only the drive-end angle can leave half the problem unsolved. One connector turns in a different plane from the other, allowing the cable route to suit two differently positioned ports.
Send a photo of each port in its installed position, with an arrow showing where the cable should leave. Include nearby power plugs, the enclosure wall, and any removable tray. We can use those views to discuss an endpoint combination without asking you to guess the catalog’s direction names.

Include the two model photos or references, your trial quantity, and the equipment layout in the inquiry. Ask for sample availability and charges. Testing the shortlisted configurations in the actual enclosure can help when you can’t confirm clearance from photos alone.
Tell us which configuration belongs to each bay and how many of each cable the kit needs. We can review grouped packaging and identification with the order. Confirm the packing list before production so a kit doesn’t rely on visual sorting at the assembly line.
Provide the exact part number, revision, and any barcode format, together with the requested label location. Review the label and packaging requirements in the quotation. Approve a sample label if machine scanning or line-side identification is important.
Include the manufacturer reference or material requirement, and whether alternatives are acceptable. Review availability and feasibility for the selected angle and quantity. Agree on any substitution process before ordering, rather than assuming a similar-looking connector is interchangeable.
Send the previous order or approved sample reference, the equipment revision, and photographs of both ends. Note any differences from the earlier build. These details help distinguish a repeat configuration from a visually similar cable with a different exit.
This page describes the SATA data cable assembly. List any power lead, bracket, or other component separately in the inquiry; inclusion in the shipment should be stated in the quotation and packing list.
No. Changing the cable exit does not convert the storage interface or add SAS support to a SATA controller. Identify the drive interface and the controller’s capabilities before choosing the right interconnect.
Send the selected configuration or photos, length, quantity, and any packaging or material requirements. Request the commercial terms for that exact build. Standard and custom arrangements may differ, so the current quotation should include the minimum quantity and lead time.

How to Specify Left and Right SATA Cable Exits Without a Mirror-Image Mix-Up
“Left angle” sounds precise until one person looks into the port and another looks at the back of the cable. Both can describe the same connector differently. When several drive bays or motherboard revisions are involved, a simple visual reference is often more valuable than a longer product name.
Use one reference view for each endpoint
Start with a photo looking toward the mating face of the installed port. Keep the SATA key visible and mark the intended cable exit with an arrow. Label the motherboard or controller as End A and the drive as End B. A second side view helps show whether the route turns beside the connector or toward another plane.
Compare those views with the actual model photos above. Avoid ordering solely from a left/right description copied from another supplier: naming conventions and viewing directions can differ. The agreed drawing should preserve the keyed face and exit arrow at both ends.
Check the space the housing occupies
An angled lead reduces the straight run needed behind a plug, but the molded body still occupies space beside it. Check the neighboring SATA power connector, stacked motherboard ports, drive tray, and case wall. Leave enough clearance to insert the connector and reach the latch when removing it.
A cable may fit with the chassis open but become awkward once the cover or an adjacent drive is installed. Evaluate the assembly in its final position. The right result is a route that seats freely and remains serviceable, not a connector held in position by the closed panel.
Let the flat cable follow the route
For a double-angle build, lay out the whole cable between End A and End B before fixing its length. The endpoint combination should not require a tight twist or a fold pressed against the overmold. Provide the intended length reference and routing allowance; a connector-to-connector straight-line distance may not represent the installed path.
If none of the photographed combinations provide a natural route, send a sketch or existing sample for review of a custom configuration. Manufacturing feasibility, dimensions, and any tooling requirements belong in the quotation rather than being assumed from the word “custom.”
Approve fit and operation as separate checks
During sample evaluation, check physical fit first with the equipment powered down. Confirm that both plugs seat fully and the latches engage where supported. Then follow the equipment manufacturer’s procedure to check drive detection and transfers. A good mechanical fit does not, by itself, guarantee a particular data rate.
SATA 6Gb/s is an interface signaling rate, not 6GB/s of file throughput. Host and drive capabilities, cable construction, and total channel conditions determine operation. An angled connector is a routing option, not a speed upgrade or proof of vibration qualification.
Keep the successful configuration identifiable
For production, record the selected image or drawing revision, both endpoint views, and the agreed ordering reference. If different bays use different angles, separate them in the bill of materials and packing instructions. That makes replenishment and service replacement less dependent on a technician recognizing a red cable by sight.
You can start with a marked-up installation photo and the approximate quantity. We will review the relevant BC-DAG006 arrangement; the wider SATA cable range provides other constructions if the routing problem needs a different approach.
