Molex to SATA Power Adapter
Bridge legacy 4-pin peripheral and SATA power interfaces without adding a loose cable loop. The BC-DAG027 family offers four compact, rigid adapter layouts for builds where the mating connectors sit close together.
- Four models with distinct connector-gender combinations.
- SATA male contacts on A/B; latched SATA female sockets on C/D.
- Large 4-pin peripheral male or female options.
- Rigid housing for a short, direct connection.
- Power only: no data transfer or voltage conversion.
- OEM configuration and sourcing review available.
A Direct Connection Without an Extra Cable Loop
Molex to SATA Power Adapter — Compact Rigid Designs
When two power interfaces must meet in a small space, an extra cable loop isn’t always helpful. BespokeCable BC-DAG027 adapters place a legacy 4-pin peripheral connector and a 15-pin SATA power connector in one rigid body. Four layouts let you choose the mating contacts and, on selected models, a metal retention latch.
This family suits short, stationary transitions in equipment assemblies, service kits, and test fixtures. It is not a flexible extension. Where the connectors cannot align naturally, compare our Molex-to-SATA cable harnesses instead. A cable can accommodate an offset that a rigid adapter cannot.

Use the model photographs and mating contacts together. “Male” and “female” refer to the electrical interface, not simply the outside housing shape. The SATA male versions do not directly mate with a drive’s usual male power interface. Select the complementary connector and verify the wiring before use.
What This Adapter Does—and Does Not Do
The adapter changes the physical power connection. It does not create extra power, add a missing voltage rail, split one connection into several outputs, or carry SATA data. A storage drive still needs its appropriate data path; use the SATA cable range to select that separately.
If you are replacing a discontinued adapter, send clear photographs of both connector faces and the equipment reference. We can start with those details, even if you don’t yet have a formal drawing. Final compatibility depends on the approved contacts, pin assignment, load, and mechanical fit.
Four Connector Layouts for Your Assembly
Match both connector faces before selecting a suffix. Each photograph shows alternate views of one model, not a two-piece kit.

P/N: BC-DAG027-A
Large 4-pin peripheral male contacts pair with a SATA male edge interface in a rigid body. Choose this contact arrangement for a matched cable or fixture interface. Neither end should be selected by housing shape alone; compare the mating contacts and required power path.

P/N: BC-DAG027-B
A SATA male interface pairs with large 4-pin peripheral female contacts. This layout can bridge a suitable SATA power lead to a matching peripheral device connection. Its compact body eliminates a cable loop, provided both interfaces align and you don’t strain the sockets.

P/N: BC-DAG027-C
The photographed C model combines large 4-pin peripheral male contacts with a SATA female socket and a metal latch. It offers a direct mating layout, with the source and device connections close together. Allow clearance to seat the socket fully and release the latch.

P/N: BC-DAG027-D
Large 4-pin peripheral female contacts pair with a latched SATA female socket. Select this dual-female contact layout based on both mating connectors and the intended source side. It is a compact interface transition, not a substitute for checking the equipment pin assignment and load.
A Compact Body, with Room for Service Access
A rigid adapter removes the loose cable section between two interfaces. That can simplify a compact assembly or service kit, provided the finished connection has a clear approach and removal path.
The C and D models add a metal latch at the SATA female socket. Leave space above that latch and beside the neighboring connector so a technician can release it without pulling on the equipment. Share a side-view photograph if clearance is uncertain; a simple image often makes the choice between a rigid adapter and a flexible lead much easier.

Send the required suffixes and quantity per kit for review. Ask for individual identification so a technician can distinguish the contact layouts without opening every package. We can discuss the packing arrangement in the quotation; the two photographs do not mean that each item includes two adapters.
Yes—identify the destination market and the documents your project requires when requesting a quotation. Availability must be checked against the actual parts and materials supplied. A plastic flammability grade is not the same as finished-product certification, and this page does not claim blanket CE, UL, or other approvals for every configuration.
We can review a proposed variation, but we can’t customize a rigid adapter by selecting a cable length. Different housings, contact positions, or retention features may require a new construction and tooling assessment. Send the required interfaces, space limits, and expected quantity so feasibility, development cost, and timing can be quoted separately.
Yes, request availability for the exact suffix you intend to use. Include how many samples you need and the equipment on which they will be evaluated. The quotation confirms sample charges, dispatch timing, and any custom-development work; approval should reference the tested configuration before placing the production order.
Here, it identifies the commonly named legacy 4-pin peripheral interface, not a promise that Molex makes every component. If a branded connector is mandatory, specify its manufacturer and full part number. We will review the sourcing requirement without treating a compatible alternative as the same branded component.
Stop using a loose, discolored, or unusually hot connection; don’t force a mismatched connector. Send the order or lot reference, model suffix, clear photos of both mating interfaces, and the power source/device details. For a fit issue, include the obstruction and available space. These details help distinguish a selection mismatch from an assembly problem.

Specify a Rigid Power Adapter That Fits the Finished Build
A compact adapter can remove an unnecessary cable loop, but its shape becomes part of the installation. Unlike a short harness, a rigid body cannot bend around an offset or absorb movement between parts. The right purchase decision therefore starts with how the complete connection will sit inside the equipment.
Inspect the mating faces before the housing
Take a straight-on photograph of each connector the adapter must meet. Include the exposed contacts or socket openings, the keying, and any retaining feature. For this family, A and B use SATA male contact blades, while the individual C and D product photographs show SATA female sockets with metal latches. The large 4-pin end also differs by model.
Write down which side supplies power and which side receives it. A passive adapter does not automatically enforce a safe direction or protect against an incorrect connection. Agree the pin map before energizing the assembly, and never use an adapter to join independent power sources. For modular power supplies, these peripheral interfaces must not be confused with a manufacturer-specific socket on the PSU itself.
Check the assembled space, not only adapter size
A dimension drawing should account for the adapter body plus the mating plug, cable exit, and room for fingers or a service tool. A part may fit between two surfaces yet leave no way to disconnect it. Include the distance to the adjacent SATA data connector, drive carrier, enclosure wall, and any cover that closes over the connection.
For a latched model, check the release path with the assembly installed. The latch should not be trapped under a bracket. If a short rigid transition would push another cable sharply against the housing, a flexible harness may be the more serviceable solution, even if it takes up more space.
Keep leverage off the equipment connector
Support the attached cable so routine handling does not twist the adapter against a drive or board socket. Do not pull a rigid adapter sideways to overcome misalignment. Connector engagement and retention matter, but neither makes the equipment socket a structural support.
Use the actual enclosure during sample evaluation. Check that the mating faces seat completely without bending a bracket or lifting a drive. Repeat the removal procedure with the expected service access, rather than testing only on an open bench. This reveals fit problems that an isolated product photograph cannot show.
Separate mechanical fit from electrical acceptance
A successful fit is only one part of approval. Identify the device voltage rails and operating load, then obtain the rating for the exact adapter construction. A passive 4-pin transition does not generate a missing 3.3 V rail or increase the available current. Do not turn a component contact rating into a claim about the complete assembly.
For an OEM project, specify the wiring checks and any load evaluation required for acceptance. Agree how the sample will be assessed for voltage drop, contact heating, and retention in your equipment. Required compliance evidence should reference the supplied configuration, not just a similar connector family.
Keep repeat orders tied to the approved version
Reference the BC-DAG027 suffix, connector drawing and approved sample when placing a repeat order. Identify any permitted substitute components separately. This is especially useful when several outwardly similar adapters are stored together: a clear item label is more dependable than recognizing a black housing at a glance.
To start a quotation, send photos of both connector faces, a side view of the available space, the equipment or drive model, and your quantity. If you only have an old adapter, include photos of that part as well. Send your installation details, and we can review which rigid layout—or cable-based alternative—best matches the project.
