Hard Drive Power Cable
BC-DAG024 is a four-position board-power to dual SATA power harness family. It brings two drive-side power sockets to a specified source header, with three pictured power-housing options.
- Two 15-pin SATA female power sockets in an inline layout.
- Three reference models: BC-DAG024-A, B, and C.
- Four-position source housing must match the exact equipment header and pinout.
- Passive power routing: no voltage conversion, data transmission, or extra source capacity.
- Confirm both drive loads, required rails, conductor specification, and connector spacing.
- Review OEM length, identification, and packaging requirements.

Hard Drive Power Cable with Four-Position Input and Dual SATA Outputs
Two drives fit neatly into an enclosure, but their power connections still need a dedicated route. The BC-DAG024 family provides two SATA female power sockets from one specified four-position source connection. A, B, and C use different power-end housings, so you can match the assembly to the equipment header rather than choosing only by drive size.
The important word is specified. A four-pin header is not a universal power standard. Before connecting a harness, confirm the mating housing, pin numbering, voltage assignment, and the current available for both drives. This passive cable does not correct an incompatible supply.
Compare the Three Reference Models
| Model | Board end | Confirm |
|---|---|---|
| BC-DAG024-A | Compact four-position housing, catalog PH2.0 reference | Exact mating header, pitch and wiring |
| BC-DAG024-B | Four-position housing, legacy PH2.54 catalog label | Actual housing and pitch; the label does not establish a genuine JST PH-series part |
| BC-DAG024-C | Alternative small four-position housing | Exact mating part and dimensions; no pitch is inferred from the photograph |
Electrical and Mechanical Build Review
| Item | Ordering detail |
|---|---|
| Drive-side sockets | Two 15-pin SATA female power connections; verify clearance with neighboring data plugs |
| Source | Equipment-specific four-position header with an approved voltage and pin assignment |
| Load | Combined demand of both devices, including relevant start-up current, within the entire shared path limit |
| Power rails | Specified by the equipment and drives; missing rails are not generated by the harness |
| Wire and contacts | Conductor size, insulation, and terminal combination approved together for the quoted build |
| Dimensions | Define source-to-first-socket length, socket spacing, and any remaining lead length on the drawing |
| Data function | None; each drive requires its own separate compatible data connection |
Two Sockets Share One Source
Adding the second socket does not create another independent supply. Each drive draws current according to its own requirements; the harness does not actively allocate equal wattage. Review the source header, terminals, conductors, and connected devices as one power path. A larger housing or thicker wire alone does not determine the complete assembly’s capacity.
Check the actual drive manuals. Many 3.5-inch SATA HDDs need both 5V and 12V, while a 2.5-inch device may have different requirements. A board offering only one rail cannot be assumed to power every SATA drive. The 15-position socket also does not prove that all possible power pins or rails are populated.
Keep the Board Interface Distinct from Other Power Cables
This is not a direct modular PSU replacement cable, an LP4 adapter, or a data lead. If the available source is a conventional SATA peripheral power connection, compare the SATA-to-SATA extension and Y-branch options. For a combined drive-side data and board-power harness, see the HDD cable family, which includes a separate seven-pin data branch.
Send the Header Details for an OEM Quote
A useful inquiry includes the board and drive models, header part number or clear dimensional photos, the source pinout, the required route, and expected quantity. Mark both drive locations and the socket spacing. BespokeCable can review the matching housing and assembly drawing with you before sample approval, so repeat orders refer to a defined build rather than an ambiguous four-pin name.
Choose the Board-Power Housing
Choose A, B, or C based on the required board-side mating part, then approve the electrical mapping and dual-drive route. The photos show the three power-housing options; the housing label alone does not guarantee compatibility.

P/N: BC-DAG024-A
The compact four-position source housing is listed under the PH2.0 reference. Two inline SATA power sockets serve the drive-side route. Confirm the exact header and supply assignment first, then specify the distance to the first socket and the spacing needed for the second drive.

P/N: BC-DAG024-B
This version uses the B power housing, previously labeled PH2.54. Treat that as a catalog reference, not a verified original-brand series designation. Send the mating part or drawing to confirm housing fit and pin assignment before selecting it for a dual-drive build.

P/N: BC-DAG024-C
The C version has an alternative small four-position housing and the same dual SATA socket concept. Identify its exact pitch and mating part rather than estimating them from the image. Before approving a sample, check the header, source capacity, and drive spacing together.
Identify the Header Before Approving the Harness
The A-model image shows a compact board-power housing feeding two inline SATA power sockets. It explains the harness layout but doesn’t identify your board header pinout or provide a specific current rating.
For a repeatable assembly, identify the mating header and number its positions on the drawing. Record the voltage and return assignments, the source-to-first-socket length, and the distance between the SATA sockets. This is more useful than matching a white connector by appearance alone.

Not by pin count alone. Check the exact mating part, keying, pitch, and pin assignment for the equipment header. Similar housings can have different mechanical or electrical requirements.
The PH2.54 wording is a legacy catalog reference, not evidence of a verified JST PH-series part. Confirm the actual housing, pitch, and mating header before ordering the B model.
No measured pitch is established by the product photograph. Provide the mating part number or a dimensioned header drawing. We identify the C model here as an alternative small four-position housing rather than assigning it an unverified pitch.
Only when the supplied rails, pin mapping, and combined load suit both specific devices. Many 3.5-inch SATA HDDs need 5V and 12V, including the relevant start-up current. Check the board supply and drive manuals before approving that mixed load.
No universal output wattage is stated for these models. The source circuit, header, terminals, and conductors determine the usable shared limit. Establish the required current on each rail and the quoted complete-assembly rating.
The harness does not actively divide wattage equally. Each device draws according to its own demand, and both share the upstream path. Two sockets do not create two independent supplies.
No. Confirm the actual wiring and the drive requirements. This passive harness doesn’t generate a missing rail, and the contact count or wire colors don’t indicate which power pins are connected.
No. It is a power harness. Each drive needs a separate compatible data connection. It is not a direct power interface for an M.2 NVMe drive or a proprietary laptop connector.
Do not assume so. The conductor and insulation dimensions must suit the actual terminal’s approved wire and crimp range. Confirm the wire-terminal combination and complete assembly specification for the selected model.
Send the header identity, numbered pin assignment, required rails, and load for review. We can discuss custom wiring for an OEM build, but the drawing and sample must be approved before we energize the harness.
Specify the route from the source housing to the first SATA socket, the spacing to the second socket, and any remaining lead length. Include connector orientation, enclosure clearance, and measurement points rather than only an overall length.
Provide board and drive models, the header reference, pinout, load, route drawing, and quantity. Agree on sample evaluation, required declarations or test scope, lead time, and commercial terms for the quoted build before placing a production order.

Specify the Header, Load, and Two Drive Positions Together
A dual-drive harness is easiest to order when the electrical interface and the physical route are defined in the same document. A cable that reaches both drives is still unsuitable if the board header has a different pin assignment or cannot support the combined demand.
Identify the Actual Mating Part
Start with the equipment drawing or header part number. Add a mating-face photo that shows the keying and latch features. Measure pitch where needed, but do not assume that a matching nominal pitch proves the housing will fit. The legacy PH2.54 name and the C-model small-housing description both need a more precise identity for a production order.
Define the Shared Power Budget
List the supply rails required by each drive and the maximum or start-up demand relevant to the application. Check that the source header and its board circuit can provide them. The two sockets share the upstream path; they are not separately regulated outputs. A passive harness cannot add a missing rail or compensate for an undersized source.
Choose Wires and Terminals as a Pair
Specify the conductor and insulation with the selected terminals, not independently. A wire size that suits one housing may not be suitable for another terminal’s crimp range. Likewise, an insulation style number does not prove certification or current capacity for the completed harness. Ask for the material and inspection evidence your purchasing process requires.
Describe the Inline Socket Positions
Measure the route from the board to the first drive, then the spacing to the second. Check the power sockets, data plugs, and enclosure panels together. Allow service access without leaving the harness under tension. Connector pitch and overall length alone do not describe this installation well enough to reproduce it reliably.
Approve a Sample Against the Drawing
With power isolated, verify continuity, polarity, and fit before functional evaluation with the intended equipment. Define any required load or environmental test scope and acceptance criteria in advance. Tie the approved sample, drawing revision, and connector identities to the production order, rather than relying on a generic promise of universal compatibility.
Send the header reference and two drive positions through the inquiry form. If the source connector differs from the options pictured here, the wider SATA cable range can help you identify a more suitable starting family.
